Instagram has stated that the feature is rolling out globally for reels, which now connect to feeds, stories, live and IGTV as a place to shop from within the Instagram app.
With this feature, businesses and creators will get support to include their product tags on the reels. The reels that feature the products will show a “View Products” caption below, which can be tapped to find, buy and save products portrayed by the viewer. Additionally, creators will have the option to add a “branded content” tag, to make it more transparent for viewers to distinguish between paid and actual recommendations.
Both shopping and reels are two features that are getting a steady boost from the company. Less than a month later, Instagram has also added new tabs on the home screen of its app called Reels and Shop. Both these new tabs were added on the home screen to make it easier for the user to discover new content as well as make purchases through the app.
Announcing these features, Instagram said, “We don’t take these changes lightly – we’ve updated Instagram’s home screen for quite some time.”
