When you ask someone how they meet people now, the obvious answer is through dating apps. Well, we all lost the sense of going out to find and meet people. Now it’s about swiping left or right!
It is not wrong to find someone in online dating apps, but you know, not everyone dares to put up a dating profile.. There is a serious disconnect in people, and many think dating apps are for hookup / casual sex. There is a lot of garbage [information] about it on the Internet, and there is nothing we can do about it.
I am not writing this to bring some awareness, but to find ways on how to meet someone without an online dating app. Remember, you can’t just hit on some strangers and expect a good conversation. So, what do you think is right?

Of course, the first option would be a social media app. I bet many of us have scared people on Instagram! The social media sensation, Tiktok, gave birth to many social media celebrities, whom we consider to be the right place to start. Okay, you are almost right. The reason I do not recommend Facebook, Instagram, is just too much garbage that you should not remove.
When I say this, I usually mean influencers. They believe that they can differentiate with their positions, but they do not. With all these non-qualified posts in your timeline, your efforts to connect with some new people will be in vain. So, the first and most important place to start with, are Internet forums that act as UGC aggregators. The reason for starting from here is to be known first about what is new in people, then to understand their humor and then move on to connect / communicate.

Put Your Humor in Action
I can’t believe that when someone says they don’t have a sense of humor. Humor and fun is what makes any relationship strong. For Millennials or Gen-Z, using humor for self-defense has now become a part of life. The reason I suggested to understand the fun in the first place is to get used to the dialect. Now you have read or analyzed how the conversation takes place outside the social; It’s time to test it
This is actually where many people come to the dating app and try different pick up lines to impress. If you read it somewhere, there is a reasonable chance that the other person will also read it. Of course, it is failing. In the worst cases, there is a chance that the other person may not get the lines. I do not want to start with the misinformed part. So, platforms are the right way to put your humor into action.
As previously stated, get into the conversation! You can also use some IM apps that connect you randomly to talk to people. I know we are not new to this and have been exploiting for a long time, but they are the right place to start.
Connect With People
Not all social media apps are dating equivalent, but many use it in that way. The whole point of social media websites is to connect & communicate with people around the world. Now, it evolved into something else, and improved a different topic for some other time. Besides dating apps, the best alternative to find or meet new people is through social media apps. As you mastered the internet humor and partly tested it, it’s time to take things forward.
To begin with, search for the Facebook communities that share the common interests you have. Join & connect with people. Get into the conversations, and be sensible when commenting.
